Week 29, 2025

#weeknotes

💼 Started the new job! An entire week of induction training, but totally enjoying it all. Got a great group of people I'm working with; we've all clicked really quickly. Next week we move on to technical training.

🇮🇹 Made a pretty good Spaghetti alla Carbonara for two (authentic, except I couldn't get guanciale so had to make do with pancetta) on Friday evening 😋

🏋️‍♀️ Last week’s weight loss: –1.1 kg

🎲 Board game night with friends on Saturday; played Carcassonne again but with another expansion pack added—The Princess and the Dragon—which has changed the dynamic of the game (more combative) but I loved it.

This is a game of Carcassonne, a tile-placement board game. Players build a medieval landscape with tiles featuring cities, roads, monasteries, and fields. They place followers, called meeples, to claim features and score points. Carcassonne end game after the dragon rampaged

🐶 Ollie (my Frenchie) has loved his first week with the dog walker; making new friends and having adventures…

Two French Bulldogs sit on green grass, both looking up at the camera. The dog on the left wears a pink harness and has a darker coat. The dog on the right, lighter in colour and wearing a red and black harness, appears to be smiling. A yellow training lead is visible on the grass.

A grey French Bulldog with a red and black harness runs energetically across a grassy garden. Behind, a tan dog is mid-air, leaping high above the grass. The scene is bordered by a wooden fence on the left and green shrubbery on the right.

Two dogs rest on a dirt slope in a wooded area near a wooden picnic bench. On the left is a grey French Bulldog in a red and black harness. On the right is a black Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a silver chain collar. Both dogs are panting with tongues out.
