📝 A full week of technical training and lots of note-taking. Looking forward to getting properly hands-on with some things next week.

🗼 Finally made it up to the top floor of the new office building to check out the views from the café…

💼 Started the new job! An entire week of induction training, but totally enjoying it all. Got a great group of people I'm working with; we've all clicked really quickly. Next week we move on to technical training.

🇮🇹 Made a pretty good Spaghetti alla Carbonara for two (authentic, except I couldn't get guanciale so had to make do with pancetta) on Friday evening 😋

🐶 Found a fantastic dog walker for Ollie who will get him out while I'm at work; he'll be going with a small group of other Frenchies on lots of adventures; can't wait to see the photos and videos! ❤️

🥱 Had a nice relaxing week pottering about doing jobs around the house and chilling out watching movies, before starting the new job next week 💼

🃏 Home poker league game, monthly tournament; 8 players, finished 3rd, moved to the top of the league!

🚘 Solved the car parking situation for the new job; it’s in the city centre so the only options are public car parks — found that a quarterly permit for the main shopping centre car park works out at £65 per mo. (~£2.95 per working day) with only an 8-min walk to the office, the best option by far 👍

🥱 Spent most of the week sorting out life admin and being ill with a bug 🤧

🎟️ Went to the cinema to see John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) …for the first time! 8/10

💼 Received (and accepted) a full-time job offer; start mid-July 🥳
